PSRC Sponsor Q&A With Ace Relocation Systems

Alyssa Lammers shares how the team at Ace gets involved with their local communities, and the ways in which the company is moving the sustainability needle within the mobility industry.


Where is your company headquartered?

We are headquartered in sunny San Diego, CA with 10 offices nationwide. Ace’s other locations are in Austin, TX; Bay Area, CA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Cleveland, OH; Orlando, FL; Phoenix, AZ; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, DC.

For how many years have you been involved with the Puget Sound Relocation Council (PSRC) and why did you decide to become a sponsor?

Ace has been involved with the PSRC for over 15 years as a sponsor and annual contributor.

What, in your opinion, is the most valuable part of being involved with the PSRC community?

We enjoy being a part of PSRC as it is an organization that values education, collaboration, camaraderie and giving back to the local community.

What makes your company unique? Please be specific!

Ace is a family-owned and operated company with strategic locations in major metropolitan markets across the U.S.

We specialize in the worldwide relocation of household goods and services for individuals, corporate partners, military and government personnel and commercial moving. For the past 10 years, we have been an Atlas Van Lines #1 hauler!

We are especially proud to be on the cutting edge of technology in our industry that ensures a positive customer experience.

How does your company fit into the relocation process?

Ace provides many years of expertise in the household goods moving arena, including pre-move counseling, packing, loading, hauling and storage.

What are your company’s core values? Please provide a few examples of these values in action.

Our mission is to earn and maintain customer loyalty by consistently delivering the highest quality experience at every level and every interaction. We will accomplish this with a company-wide commitment to top-tier service, systems and products.

Community: Ace believes that being a large moving and storage company does not only include serving the needs of our customers when moving them from one place to another but also being an active contributor to the communities in which we operate. We are committed to doing business in a socially responsible way and creating a lasting positive impact on all our stakeholders. We aim to utilize our financial resources, time and expertise to enable people around us to lead better lives.

Some examples of ways we are involved in our communities include: Multiple Sclerosis Society, Long Beach Basket Brigade, American Diabetes Association, Realtor Association of Northwest Chicagoland (RANWC) Charitable Foundation’s Helping Our Heroes, Toys for Tots, Move for Hunger, the American Cancer Society’s walk: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Truckers Against Trafficking and American Red Cross Blood Drive we have their trucks come to our offices.

Sustainability: Ace is proud to be among the first to be certified as a Sustainable Agent – Master Level. We view environmental sustainability as part of our commitment to our customers and to our planet. It is part of our overall Corporate Social Responsibility program, and we are always reaching for ways to improve our environment via better technology and business practices. Whether it’s at the corporate office or at a job site, our goal is to come up with greener ways to do business. We strive to deliver a quality moving experience for our customers while ensuring minimal environmental impact with our equipment, supplies and facilities.

A few examples of this work in action are going paperless with the help of technology and investing in cleaner, more efficient equipment that meets the standards set by CARB and the EPA. As a result, Ace has one of the largest compliant moving fleets in California and beyond.

What, in your opinion, is the most exciting/rewarding part about the work your company does?

Moving is one of the most stressful times in someone’s life. It’s rewarding to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in our customer's lives and make this time a little less stressful for them.

What are some of your company’s goals and initiatives for 2022? Please be specific and tell us what you’re doing to meet these goals.

  1. Continued technology advancements: We’re currently creating a live tracking system for our customers on crew arrival.

  2. Continued technological advances: We’re creating a first-in-class customer experience team in an effort to provide the best possible experience for everyone involved in the moving process.

  3. Continue to be a leader within the Atlas Van Lines network.

What’s one fun fact about your company that may not be well known?

As of 2021, Ace now has the third generation of the Lammers family working within the organization.

How do you see our industry evolving in the next 3-5 years?

Our industry is evolving and becoming more technology-based and driven due to the changing needs and expectations of our customers. Knowing this, we see the industry transitioning and evolving into more of a self-serve/kiosk model over time.
