Join the PSRC Board to welcome award winning speaker Deena Pierott as she takes us through a four-part series on equity. This series is to provide attendees the space to understand the complex diversity challenges and the opportunities for growth within organizations. Four total sessions, 1 hr each.

About The Event
In each of the four sessions Deena will provide an overview of our topic, create breakout rooms for team discussions followed by open roundtable insights. It is Deena's goal for attendees to understand the complex diversity challenges and the opportunities for growth within organizations. (It is preferred that you are able to attend all four sessions if you register. PLEASE NOTE: Following each session, you will receive a calendar invitation for the next session. March 17th, 2021 12pm - 1pm PST
Session One: Systemic Racism and its lingering effects. Defining what Systemic and Structural racism is and how it has evolved over the years. Systemic racism, also called structural racism or institutional racism, are systems and structures that have procedures or processes that disadvantages African Americans. Glenn Harris, president of Race Forward and publisher of Colorlines, defined it as "the complex interaction of culture, policy and institutions that holds in place the outcomes we see in our lives."
March 31st, 2021 12pm - 1pm PST
Session Two: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging. This session will focus on what are the definitions of each and how they are separate yet connected.
April 7th, 2021 12pm - 1pm PST
Session Three: Bias – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Understanding Bias and practical ways to interrupt them.
April 21st, 2021 12pm - 1pm PST
Session Four: Where to go from here. Going from Racist to Anti-Racist. Authentic Allyship. Inclusive Leadership.
